I bough my D800 housing from Bluewater photo store after many email exchange with Scott. He was very helpful with me, answering all my questions and gave me good recommendations about the best lenses to use, with which dome or port and other gears to use… Since that I did 3 dive trip with my new gears and I'm very happy with my choice…

The D800 is an awesome camera and the Nauticam housing is the perfect complement for that camera. You have easy access to many of the most important buttons so you can do quick setting changes when needed. By adding the 180 degree viewfinder, you have an amazing tool that can gives you a lot of pleasure.

So don't hesitate to email Scott and his team at Bluewater photo store for any questions.

Awesome Piece Of Gear!

I recently logged 27 dives in the Turks & Caicos Islands with my Nauticam D800 housing and this thing is worth every penny if you are serious about underwater photography. It just feels right in the hand: a finely engineered piece of gear that is also built like a Virginia class submarine. It's battle-worthy protection combined with the utmost in finesse.

The housing's indestructible feel and built-in leak alarm gives you every confidence as you descend into the blue. From the moment you cinch it closed you feel like your expensive DSLR is in good hands: kind of like a little Tony Stark sealed inside his Ironman armor. After only a few dives you stop treating it like a museum piece and start concentrating on your images.

The attention to ergonomics is why I picked Nauticam in the first place and here the housing really shines. They have all the bases covered from using it in the water to maintaining it on land. The controls are smooth to operate and easy to find without taking your eye from the viewfinder. That main O-ring may look like a pain to get back into the groove after lubrication but in fact it's a piece of cake. This housing simply does its job of protecting the camera while staying out of your way so you can do what you came to do.

Great housing for a great camera

I just returned from 17 days and 51 dives in Wakatobi, each one with my D800 in the Nauticam housing. The housing is excellent for a variety of reasons. The simplicity and ease of operation is a huge advantage, especially when you need frequent, speedy lens changes. The port closure seems foolproof and lenses can be changed without taking the camera out of the housing. There is peace of mind in having the moisture detector and alarm, but it would seem virtually impossible that the camera could ever be at risk as it is easy to tell whether the back and port are fully closed just by looking. All the controls are easily within reach while holding the handles of the housing and the whole set up has a very solid feel. I sprung for the 180 degree viewfinder, which gave the added benefit of being able to take a shot with the camera held further away from my face at times, and of course when trying to focus on creatures that can barely be seen with the naked eye. Scott at Bluewater set up the whole system for me and it worked like a dream.
