Marelux Artemis 4500 RMT Video Light Review
The Marelux Artemis 4500 RMT is a compact, three-color underwater video light that delivers impressive brightness, soft falloff, and creative versatility in a travel-friendly body. Rated at 4500 lumens, its wide 120° beam and neutral 6000K color temperature produce natural, flattering illumination for both macro and wide-angle shooting.
In real dives, the light’s output felt strong — just slightly lower than the rated 4500 lumens, likely because of its broad beam angle that spreads light evenly across the frame. The result is beautifully soft, even coverage with clean edges and a pleasingly cool tone that looks excellent underwater.
Battery life is excellent — about two dives per charge using standard 18650 cells — and the rugged anodized aluminum body feels purpose-built for dive travel. While I didn’t test the remote shutter control feature (available for compatible Marelux housings), it’s a smart addition for shooters working on tripods or in tight spaces. The red and blue modes stand out for their quality and are especially useful for creative backlighting and night dives.
At around $350, the Artemis 4500 RMT offers outstanding value — a bright, even, and reliable light that’s perfect for travel, reef, and macro videography.
