The science of light:
The human eye sees by collecting light reflected from an object and transmitting it to the brain via the optic nerve. Since light behaves differently underwater, visibility is affected by turbidity, diffusion, absorption and refraction. Although only an average of 20% of sunlight reaches 10m/30ft in clear water, there is still enough penetration to sustain photosynthesis to depths approaching 100m/300ft. High concentrations of suspended particles, however, can prevent light from reaching even 3m/10ft. As light penetrates water, absorption filters out wavelengths beginning with red, followed by orange and yellow, causing these colors to appear black or grey underwater.

Being as small as it is, this light is the perfect choice for travel rigs, with it's little ball mounting allowing for quick setups. This light also performed extremely well in tough conditions, thanks to its rounded, hard anodized shell, which helps resist corrosion. This video light has a depth rating of 100m (300ft), making it a great choice for beginner photographers all the way to technical divers.

It is is slightly heavier and more expensive than the Bluewater 3000, but the color temperature and battery life was comparitively better. It also withstood tough conditions and produced some excellent results, as discussed in our review.
