Nikon has officially unveiled the highly-anticipated Nikon Z8, a full-frame mirrorless camera designed to cater to the needs of imaging professionals, serious photographers, videographers, and advanced creators. The Nikon Z8 is all about versatility and agility, featuring the latest innovations and speed derived from the flagship mirrorless Nikon Z9, but in a more compact and lightweight form factor that's ready to go wherever your creativity takes you.
With its advanced technology and user-focused features, the Nikon Z8 is capable of producing stunning high-resolution images (featuring a 45.7 megapixel stacked CMOS sensor) and videos up to 8K 60p, boasting impressive detail, sharpness, and precise color. It's engineered to be nimble, measuring approximately 30% smaller than the Z9 and 15% smaller than its predecessor, the Nikon D850. The Z8 is a workflow efficiency powerhouse, allowing professionals to shoot with confidence and yielding top-quality files with uncompromising Nikon color science, which minimizes time needed for post-production or editing. So for underwater shooting, the Z8 is your new go-to camera for limitless creativity.

Ikelite Nikon Z8 200DL Underwater Housing
*Affordable, Sturdy, Great TTL option*
The Ikelite 200DL Nikon Z8 underwater housing is made from durable polycarbonate material, making it lightweight, easy to transport and use and immune to any form of corrosion that may become an issue with aluminum housings. A secondary benefit to being made from polycarbonate rather than aluminum is that it's more affordable than some of the other underwater housings on this list. Not only is it more affordable, but it also comes with a vacuum valve out of the box, which will help budding underwater photographers save even more money. You will have to purchase the vacuum pump separately, however. The vacuum system, combined with Ikelite's new dry lock (DL) port system and a clear back, which lets you see if there are any leaks, means your camera will be safe from water damage. This 200DL version which is depth rated to 200ft. is the big brother to the Ikelite 50DL (listed below).

About the Nikon Z8
The new Nikon Z8 - the camera that redefines the limits of speed and precision. Designed with the same industry-leading technology as the flagship Nikon Z9, the Nikon Z8 boasts unparalleled versatility and power. It's equipped with a powerful EXPEED 7 image processing engine, paired with a full-frame (FX-format) 45.7-megapixel BSI stacked sensor that operates without a mechanical shutter, allowing for complete silence and virtually no rolling shutter distortion. With the Z8, you can focus in candlelight during a first dance, or capture a falcon in flight with stunning precision.
But the Z 8 is more than just speed and versatility. It also features Nikon's most advanced and precise AF system yet, developed with deep learning technology. The focus is immediate and reliable, with a range of functions from Auto-Area AF to customizable Wide Area AF. Additionally, the enhanced Subject Detection capability recognizes a variety of subjects, including humans, pets, birds, trains, cars, motorbikes, bicycles, and even airplanes.
The new Nikon Z8 features some of the more advnaced technology taken for the big-brother, the Z9:
With cutting-edge internal 12-bit RAW footage which enables you to capture stunning ProRes RAW 4K60p footage or even higher-quality N-RAW footage up to 8K60p, all while maintaining a 50% smaller file size. Plus, with N-RAW, you'll also get a handy 1080p proxy file for seamless editing.
The Z 8 can record up to approx. 125 min. in 4K UHD/60p1 and up to approx. 90 min. in 8K UHD/30p
Capture Every Detail with 8K60p (N-RAW) and 8K30p, and Transform Your Footage with Easy Cropping and Panning. Explore the World of Cinematic 4K UHD Video with Oversampled 24p/30p to 120p with Sound for Slow-Motion Shots.
To achieve greater color flexibility, the Nikon Z8 is able to capture footage in 10-bit ProRes 4:2:2 HQ internally. Additionally, the camera offers various profile options such as an improved N-Log, HLG, and a Flat color profile that can be effortlessly graded.
The camera features two USB-C ports which are dedicated to charging (PD) and communication for accessories. It also utilizes a full-size HDMI, minimizing the use of adaptors.
