Fourth Element Wayfarer Cabin Bag Overview
Getting to a dive destination often means managing flights, transfers, accommodation and equipment along the way. Having a reliable dive bag and your important belongings organized and easy to access can make the journey simpler.
The Fourth Element Wayfarer Cabin Bag is designed with adventure travel in mind. Its extended zip opening makes accessing the main compartment easier, while internal compression straps help keep packed belongings in place, for those divers who tend to try fit as much as possible in their bags. The separate RFID-blocking pocket provides a dedicated place for travel documents and cards, giving you one less thing to worry about on your way.
Made with a waterproof 840D TPU outer shell and a GRS-certified recycled polyester lining, the Wayfarer Cabin Bag combines a rugged exterior with a lining made partly from recycled materials. Its multiple compartments help organize your belongings, and the expandable design lets you increase its volume from 45L to 48L when you need extra packing space.
Padded, multifunctional shoulder straps and an adjustable sternum strap provide a backpack-style carrying option when moving between airports, vehicles and accommodation. Multiple handles also let you carry the bag by hand. It can serve as a cabin-focused bag alongside a larger checked bag for bulkier dive equipment, such as BCDs, regulators or underwater strobes.
Key Features & Practical Benefits
- Expandable cabin-focused design: the volume extends from 45L to 48L, giving you more packing room when needed.

- GRS-certified recycled polyester lining: incorporates recycled polyester as part of the bag's interior construction.
- RFID-blocking outer zipped pocket: helps protect personal items such as passports, bank cards and other travel essentials.
- Internal elastic compression straps: help keep items in place while you travel.
- Side compression straps: help reduce the bag's volume when it is not fully packed.
- Extended zip opening and multiple compartments: make it easier to access and organize your belongings.
- Multifunctional shoulder straps: allow you to wear the bag on your back or carry it by hand using the multiple handles.
- Adjustable sternum strap and daisy chain: the sternum strap helps with carrying comfort, while the daisy chain provides a way to attach additional gear.
How to Use It for Dive Travel
- Keep important items accessible. Use the RFID-blocking pocket for suitable travel essentials such as passports, tickets and bank cards.
- Pack methodically. Use the internal elastic compression straps to help keep your belongings in place. Side compression straps can help reduce the bag's volume when you have less to carry.
- Check your cabin allowance. The closed dimensions are 55 × 38 × 22 cm, with a capacity of 45L. When expanded, the dimensions are 55 × 38 × 32 cm, with a capacity of 48L. Check which configuration your airline allows, along with its current carry-on weight restrictions.
- Separate wet equipment. The 840D TPU outer shell of the Wayfarer is described by Fourth Element as waterproof. The complete bag may not be suitable for submersion, so use a purpose-built dry bag when you need confirmed protection for water-sensitive contents.
