Garmin Fenix 9 Pro 43mm dive computer

Garmin fēnix 9 Pro 43mm Multisport GPS Watch & Dive Computer

Garmin's well-known range of multisport smartwatches have become even more capable with the Garmin Fenix 9 Pro 43 mm multisport watch and dive computer. With a combination of a lightweight yet rugged titanium construction with a bright 1.3-inch AMOLED screen, advanced GPS tracking, multiple sports modes and built-in dive features, it's an excellent choice for active individuals who would like an everyday watch, a fitness tracker and a dive computer in one package. The 43 mm is a particularly appealing option for those looking for a sleek, compact design that still supports all of Garmin's flagship features.

You have the choice between the Fenix 9 Pro and the Fenix 9 Pro InReach smartwatches, which essentially have the same core watch and dive features, while the inReach model adds LTE and satellite connectivity for two-way messaging, voice calling, LiveTrack and interactive SOS when an active inReach plan is available.

Garmin dive computers are a favorite amongst many of our team members, who have tested and dived with many models around the world. This firsthand experience gives us practical perspective on how Garmin computers perform in real diving conditions, and we must say, we are excited about the Garmin Fenix 9 Pro.

What's New with the Garmin Fenix 9 Pro:

  • More Capable Diving: Full support for single-gas scuba (Air/Nitrox up to 40%) and dedicated apnea/freediving modes. The Fenix 9 Pro is rated to 40 meters and uses the Bühlmann ZHL-16C decompression model.
  • Brighter AMOLED Display: The 1.3-inch AMOLED display has a sharp resolution of 416 x 416 pixels, and up to 3,000 nits of brightness, allowing you to easily read the screen, even in poor visibility.
  • Rugged, Low-Profile Build: Premium Sapphire crystal lens paired with a tough titanium bezel which is lightweight but also allows it to slip easily under a wetsuit or drysuit cuff.
  • Built-In inReach Connectivity: If you choose the InReach option, you will be adding LTE and satellite communication to the same 43mm watch. This is an excellent feature if you venture off the beaten track, as it allows you send messages, make voice calls, share your location and access interactive SOS features without relying on your phone.
  • A Watch That Does More Than Diving: Garmin smartwatches offer an incredible range of features that extend beyond the dive site, such as multi-band GPS, built-in mapping, advanced training and recovery tools, health monitoring, and not to mention, music, Garmin Pay and a built-in LED flashlight.

Important Tradeoff to Consider: The Fenix 9 Pro does not support wireless air integration, multi-gas technical diving, or trimix. If you need advanced technical capabilities or tank pressure integration, a dive-first option like the Garmin Descent Mk3i may be a better fit for your needs.

Available Watch Sizes

Choose the Garmin Fenix 9 Pro size that fits your wrist and dive style

The Garmin Fenix 9 Pro series is available in three case sizes. Each size should have its own product page so buyers can quickly choose the right fit, display size, and battery profile before adding to cart.

Garmin Fenix 9 Pro — 43 mm

Best for: smaller wrists, compact daily wear, and divers who want the lowest-profile Fenix 9 Pro option.

  • Smallest Fenix 9 AMOLED case size (1.3-inch screen).
  • Comfortable choice for travel and all-day wear
  • Good fit for divers who do not want a large watch under sleeves or drysuit cuffs
View 43 mm

Garmin Fenix 9 Pro — 47 mm

Best for: most divers who want a balanced fit, larger display feel, and stronger battery life than the 43 mm model.

  • Middle size in the Fenix 9 Pro AMOLED lineup
  • Good balance of screen size, comfort, and battery life
  • Often the safest choice for buyers unsure between compact and oversized

Garmin Fenix 9 Pro — 51 mm

Real-World Underwater Features

Garmin Fenix 9 Pro 43mm AMOLED dive screen showing depth and dive data underwater

Bright AMOLED Readability Underwater

The Fenix 9 Pro features a stunning 1.3-inch AMOLED display with a sharp 416 x 416 pixel resolution and an impressive brightness of up to 3,000 nits. When you are managing your buoyancy, working with a camera rig, and a moving subject, the display of your computer matters- especially in poor visibility. Your dive data is super easy to read and understand, which is important when checking your depth, NDL, ascent rate, and safety stop information.

  • Clear data presentation for recreational dives
  • Useful for low-light reef, wreck, and kelp conditions
  • Button operation helps when wearing gloves

Air, Nitrox and Apnea Support

For recreational divers and underwater photographers, the Garmin Fenix 9 Pro provides Air and Nitrox support, and also has apnea mode for the freedivers.

Keep in mind, the Fenix 9 Pro is a multisport GPS smartwatch with diving capabilities rather than a pure dive computer. This makes it a good choice for recreational divers looking for a single device for fitness tracking, everyday wear and scuba diving.

  • Air and Nitrox support from 21–40% oxygen
  • Bühlmann ZHL-16C decompression model with Gradient Factors
  • Basic NDL and gas planning tools
  • Customizable safety stops and conservatism settings

  • GPS mapping and multi-band positioning topside
  • Health, sleep, recovery, and training tools
  • Built-in LED flashlight
  • Advanced stamina metrics

Premium Materials for Everyday Wear

Being the smallest of the range, the 43 mm display allows you to take advantage of the full range of Garmin features without wearing you down. The 43mm fēnix 9 Pro uses:

  • Titanium case and bezel
  • Sapphire crystal lens
  • Silicone QuickFit band
  • 1.3-inch AMOLED display
Garmin Fenix 9 construction
Garmin Fenix 9 SOS data

Garmin Fenix 9 Pro inReach: Stay Connected Beyond Cell Coverage

The Fenix 9 Pro InReach, with an active inReach plan, adds built-in LTE and satellite communication to the standard Fenix 9 Pro platform. This is particularly useful for dive travel and allows:

  • Two-way messaging
  • Voice calling
  • LiveTrack
  • Interactive SOS
  • Satellite communication
  • LTE communication
  • Location sharing
