Kraken Hydra 10000 Video Light illuminating a reef scene

Kraken Hydra 10000 Video Lights

Compact 10,000-lumen power with WRGBU creativity for pro-level underwater video

The Hydra 10000 is built for creators who need high output, accurate color, and reliable control in a compact body. With a broad, even flood beam and high CRI output, it restores true color to your footage in challenging kraken underwater environments.

Whether you’re upgrading your Kraken Lights kit or choosing a versatile Kraken dive light for hybrid photo/video, the Hydra 10000 delivers professional results. Pair two lights for cinematic wide angle, or use a single unit for macro, night dives, and creative effects—ideal for divers seeking professional quality lights.

The UI has been upgraded - replacing the Hydra 6000/8000 V2 three-button layout with a push-button and dial for effortless brightness and mode changes, even with gloves. The Hydra 10000 offers White, Red, Green, Blue, UV, Manual RGB, Auto RGB, Burst, and SOS modes, plus 11 power levels (0–100%) to balance output and runtime—about 60 min at 8,000 lm or ~35 min at 10,000 lm. Powered by a 3×21700 pack that charges via USB-C in ~3 hours, it remains travel-friendly at 740 g topside/350 g underwater and is depth-rated to 100 m with a water-resistant head.

Pair with the KRK-RC02 Remote for fingertip control and the KRK-FB04 Float, designed specifically for the Hydra 10000, to make it perfectly neutrally buoyant.

  • 10,000-lumen wide, soft beam with high color rendition (CRI 90)
  • WRGBU outputs (white, red, green, blue, UV) for creative lighting and focus
  • Fiber-optic burst/strobe support for stills, plus remote-control compatibility
  • USB-C PD fast charging and OLED status display
  • Durable, travel-ready build with ball & YS mounting options

Wide, even beam lighting a reef scene

Soft 120° Flood for True-to-Life Color

A smooth, wide beam eliminates hotspots for even coverage across the frame—perfect for wide-angle scenes, reef fly-throughs, and balanced close-focus wide angle.

  • High CRI output for accurate reds and skin tones
  • Uniform edge-to-edge illumination
  • Daylight-balanced white for natural color
WRGBU color modes shown underwater

WRGBU Creativity & Stealth Focusing

Switch to red for focus without spooking critters, add blue/UV for fluo scenes, or use green/blue for creative accents—no extra filters or lights required.

  • Red mode preserves night-dive behavior
  • Blue/UV enables fluorescence footage
  • Color modes for in-camera looks
Camera rig triggering burst via fiber optic

Hybrid Power: Fiber-Optic Burst for Stills

Use Hydra as continuous video light, then trigger burst via fiber optic to freeze macro action—streamlined rigs for shooters who swap between video and photo.

  • Strobe-like 12000 lumen burst for crisp images
  • Great for macro & super-macro
  • Reduces need for separate strobes
OLED status display and USB-C charging on the battery pack

Smart Power & Control Built-In

Fast USB-C PD charging and an easy-to-read OLED give you clear runtime and mode info at a glance. Add the optional remote handle for fingertip control.

  • USB-C PD for quick turnarounds
  • Auto-rotating OLED status screen
  • Remote-ready for two-hand rigs
Perfect for… wide-angle scenes, macro & night dives, hybrid stills/video shooters, travel rigs where size and reliability matter.

Kraken Hydra 10000 Video Lights

1) Who is this for, practically speaking?

Creators who want consistent, controllable continuous lighting for underwater video and close-up work. Useful for travel rigs, wide-angle scenes, macro, and night dives.

  • Prioritize a stable, even beam over raw output numbers.
  • Value simple, repeatable power adjustments and clear status feedback.
  • Need a light that fits common arm/clamp systems and streamlined workflows.
  • If you’re comparing kraken lights for kraken underwater shooting, this kraken dive light sits well among current kraken dive lights.
2) How do I confirm compatibility with my gear and workflow?
  • Mounting: Verify your tray/arms accept the light’s mount type (e.g., 1" ball or YS). Check clearance with handles and floats.
  • Power/Charging: Confirm battery type and charging connector; use approved chargers/cables.
  • Control: Note how you’ll change power underwater (button, dial, or remote) with gloves.
  • Camera workflow: Ensure your exposure/WB process matches continuous lighting (manual video settings recommended).
  • Get help: Share your exact housing, arms, and camera model with Bluewater Photo—we can verify fit and suggest mounting and routing options.
3) Setup & pre-use checklist
  • Inspect & prep: Check seals/O-rings (if applicable), clean threads/contacts, and fully charge batteries.
  • Mounting: Secure clamps; position lights slightly outward from the lens to reduce backscatter.
  • Cables/routing: Keep cords (if any) away from hinges, latches, and moving arms.
  • Mode & power: Set initial power low; match your camera’s frame rate, shutter, ISO, and white balance.
  • Dry-run test: Brief topside check to confirm buttons, indicators, and beam pattern—avoid prolonged air operation to limit heat buildup.
  • Final sanity check: Before descent, recheck seals, clamps, and battery status.
4) When to use Automatic vs Manual/Custom power
  • Changing conditions: If available, an auto or adaptive mode can help manage quick ambient shifts (surge, clouds, depth changes). Monitor exposure; fine-tune as needed.
  • Controlled scenes: Set manual power for repeatability (product shots, macro subjects, stable ambient). Start with a test clip, then lock the level you prefer.
  • Workflow tip: Many shooters begin with an auto/preview approach to find a baseline, then switch to manual for consistent takes. Allow indicators a moment to refresh after changes.
  • Reminder: Features differ by model—confirm which modes your light supports.
5) Reliability, maintenance & troubleshooting
  • On-dive checks: If brightness dips, check for thermal limiting, power level changes, or partially closed clamps causing aim drift.
  • Connections: Reseat batteries/caps; inspect O-rings for lint/sand; lightly grease if specified by the manufacturer.
  • Timing: After changing modes, wait a moment for indicators to update; avoid rapid cycling that can induce heat.
  • Aftercare: Rinse in fresh water, actuate buttons, dry fully; store batteries at moderate charge and temperature.
  • Spares: Carry extra O-rings, clamps, a charger/cable, and a backup mount.
  • Need help: Bluewater Photo can troubleshoot symptoms, confirm replacement parts, and advise service paths.

Note: Features and behavior can vary by model, configuration, environment, and firmware. For mission-critical use, request a compatibility check and a tailored setup plan from Bluewater Photo.
