Why Do I Need a Light Anyway?

Underwater Video Lights like the SeaDragon 3000SF Pro Dual and the SeaDragon 3000F are great tools for bringing color and detail back in your underwater photos and videos. When you dive underwater, light filters out color in a process known as light attenuation. Longer wavelengths of light are filtered out first until all you are left with is blue light at deep depths. That's why your photos look so blue when you are diving at 50 ft deep. In fact, even at 15ft deep there is no red light left in your photos!

Adding an underwater video light will give your Micro 3.0 images a nice pop in color and details (as you can see in the photos to the right). Underwater lights can also allow you to add shadows and contrast to bring out fish like these barracuda. We highly recommend adding a video light your micro 3.0 for the best results - you'll be glad you did!
