Trip Overview

The trip starts and ends in San Jose del Cabo, before heading to the Revillagigedo Archipelago, including Socorro Island, Roca Partida, and San Benedicto Island. Guests can dive up to four times a day, with exceptional opportunities to interact with large pelagics up close.

Bluewater Travel’s 2027 warm-water pelagic trip to Socorro is designed for divers seeking consistent, high-adrenaline encounters with large ocean life in one of the world’s most remote and productive dive regions. This liveaboard expedition is timed for peak whale shark season, where warm, nutrient-rich waters attract schooling hammerheads, manta rays, dolphins, and other iconic pelagics.

With multiple dives per day, an experienced trip leader, and a strong emphasis on in-water time, this trip delivers repeat big-animal encounters in peak whale shark seasons. Guests can expect a comfortable liveaboard, small dive groups, and the kind of thrilling, action-packed diving that defines true pelagic adventures.

Gill FlahertyGill Flaherty

Gill is in charge of all Bluewater Travel's Photo Workshops and is a PADI and TDI Instructor in her free time. Gill learned to dive in her home country of Scotland and continued with much of her dive education in the UK. She quickly expanded her diving repertoire with trips to the Red Sea, Mexico, and Indonesia, and was surprised to learn that diving didn’t always involve poor visibility and chilly water temperatures. Gill has a thirst for travel and adventure and spent a year driving around Europe in a motorhome before settling in Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean. After working full-time as a Dive Instructor for three seasons, she now teaches and guides in her free time on the famous Zenobia wreck. When not underwater, Gill can be found paddle boarding, hiking, or rescuing cats.
