The Backscatter Wide Double Handle Tray & Arch Package is a modular underwater camera support system designed for stability, compatibility, and expandability. It functions as a foundational underwater camera tray, offering users the ability to mount GoPro cameras, compact digital housings, and mirrorless camera systems in a fixed, two-hand platform designed for use in aquatic environments. The tray is constructed from anodized aluminum and includes integrated features intended to support underwater photo and video capture.

This underwater camera tray includes a wide base with dual grips, which allows users to control camera movement with both hands while submerged. The included tray measures approximately 10.5 inches (266 mm) in width, making it wide enough to accommodate most compact housings and GoPro underwater housings while remaining compact enough for travel or handheld shooting.

It is compatible with camera housings that are up to 8 inches (200 mm) wide. The tray incorporates mounting positions, including a 1/4"-20 threaded tripod hole and a central mounting plate, making it suitable as both a static underwater platform and a handheld unit. The tray is most often used in applications that involve diving, snorkeling, freediving, or underwater videography with action cameras and compact digital cameras.

The package also includes a detachable arch that connects above the tray. This arch structure features multiple mounting points for attaching optional accessories such as underwater lights, strobes, or lens holders. This allows users to configure the tray into a gopro dive tray rig or a compact mirrorless setup for macro or wide-angle photography.

The grip handles on each side of the tray are spaced to provide ergonomic access to controls, depending on the dimensions of the installed housing. The left and right handles are pre-installed and are fixed using hex screws. Each handle is made of aluminum and includes foam grip covers to enhance friction and underwater handling.

The gopro tray mount included with this product features a metal anti-rotation plate. This component minimizes movement of the camera mount while submerged, ensuring alignment during video capture. The mount is compatible with standard GoPro Hero camera housings and also supports third-party housings that use the GoPro-style mounting foot. The gopro underwater tray system can also support neutral buoyancy when paired with optional floats (not included in this package).
