The new OM-D E-M1 camera promises incredible focusing speed with both phase and contrast detection available. With a revolutionary new design for mirrorless cameras this new camera makes the gap between small "travel-friendly" cameras and large high quality dSLR cameras even smaller. Able to compete against some of the top of the line dSLR in terms of function, speed and quality the new OM-D E-M1 is blazing the way for mirrorless cameras.

I took the Nauticam housing and the OM-D E-M1 camera to Soccoro in March. This was the first outing with this rig. What a great rig. It took a little practice to get used to the dials and buttons but after a few dives I was pretty comfortable and by the end of the trip it I had it down pat. I am really glad I went this housing.
This Nauticam housing is a beautifully machined piece of equipment. The unit has the tray and handles attached which are comfortable and very well positioned as are all the controls. All buttons are easy to access and all necessary camera functions are available through controls on the housing rather than having to go into the menu. The shutter release lever is in just the right place. It is easy to attach and detach the ports without having to remove the camera from the housing. The built in leak detector is also a plus. I have been using this housing for the past 6 months and can't fault it at all.
Nice, nice housing. It fits well in my hand. I like the built-in arms/tray. Lots of options for dials and buttons. Feels solid but not too heavy or big. Seems well made, well machined, piece of equipment. I REALLY like the vacuum system.
Bought this housing/camera because of its smaller size. The housing fit and function is favorably comparable to a DSLR housing. Have used 60nm macro lens/port. Very happy with housing controls are well placed and intuitive to operate . The housing has excellent quality and craftsmanship. Bought the vacuum system and this is definitely a plus, just don't screw out the vacuum locking screw to far as the system will lose suction very fast and caused me a brief moment of concern; it really works well ! I am Using viewfinder though back of housing and focusing is fast especially with focusing light source. Price is great comparing it to full size DSLR housing. Nauticam seems to be setting the standard for innovation at this time I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone venturing into the 4/3 mirrorless market. Comparing this housing to a full size housing only negative would be the back focus feels a little soft but nothing I couldn't get used to.
