The underwater housing for the Sony RX100 Mark I & II has been designed to be used scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, pool sessions, and any application in or around the water. The housing is packed with great features and has been built to last.
Ergonomics - Ikelite has designed the housing to have great ergonomics. They have provided easy to reach buttons, soft-touch knobs, trigger-type shutter lever and a front loading camera mount system.
Wet Lenses - The port of the housing has a 67mm threading and there are multiple of macro and wide angle wet lenses in the market that you fit your application. See our recommendend lenses below
Accessory Mounting - Two 1/4-20 threaded mounting points are included on the bottom of the housing for the attachment of a tray and handle system.
Strobe Triggering - Camera's flash is used to trigger an external strobe. Two ports are provided for the connection of up to two fiber optically triggered underwater strobes.
Vacuum - A spare 1/2-20 threaded Accessory Port on the side of the housing is the perfect location for the installation of an optional vacuum valve. The vacuum kit allows you to pull a vacuum on the housing to simulate pressure at depth and check for leaks prior to entering the water.
Durability - The ABS-PC blend provides strength and corrosion free performance year after year with minimal maintenance. The specially formulated color deflects the sun to keep your camera running cooler, longer. The unique rear seal design prevents accidental twisting or stretching of the o-ring for simple and confident assembly.

Wonderful, worked flawlessly, we were able to change anything we to wanted underwater. We took over a 1000 pictures on our two week holiday. I highly recomment this product. We did use the extender that bluewater supplied for our camera's zoom control. Our pictures are a great memory for us.
I bought this underwater housing prior to a recent vacation. Blue Water was able to ship the item out the same day which meant I was able to receive the housing prior to my trip. The housing is surprisingly easy to use considering its size and the fact the buttons are not labeled (not that it would help underwater). I was able to take some great pictures with the camera and the housing. I also was very pleased with the service from Blue Water.
I had a chance to use this housing with my RX100. I chose it since it was the cheapest option for housing my RX100 and the depth rating covers the type of diving I like to do.
1. Solid build and good depth rating
2. Cost vs other options
3. Clear housing enables you to spot leaks quickly and check seal of o-ring.
1. Loading camera into housing is kind of a long process when you have to secure it to the back plate then clamp the back plate/camera assembly to the housing. If you don't secure it correctly, it can misalign the camera.
2. Some buttons require a very firm press to engage camera controls (i.e. sometimes the power button was hard to engage). The menu buttons are very close together even when using thinner gloves)
3. Lack of firm mounting option for fiber optic triggered strobes. I had to use the Inon clamp on the included diffuser and it wasn't a very sturdy solution. The diffuser would rotate. It would be nice if Inon had made an FO mount for it similar to the one it makes for the S100 Ike housing.
4. Coupled with the dual handle tray and strobes, it is "heavy"
Overall, it is a good housing for those not interested shelling out a lot of money for a housing but the ergonomics leave a little to be desired.
the five stars is really for Scott and Kelli at Bluewater Photo! When I received my Ikelite Housing all was well until I realized that the piece that moves the zoom lever on the camera was just a tad to short and was losing contact with it.
I emailed Scott and got a prompt reply and later was on the phone with Kelli who got a matching camera and housing to test the problem. After encountering the same problem, she was on the phone with Ikelite who at first said they didn't recognize the problem. So Kelli offered me several options and walked me through a temporary fix.
She later followed up with the news that Ikelite had modified the part and a replacement was on its way to me. I received it and it works great now.
I order many things online and have had to deal with customer service alot. This experience was by far the most impressive. Thanks Scott and Kelli for all your help and I will be sure to order from you again!
Ikelite Housing – Sony RX-100
Ikelite AF35 Strobe Package
My primary consideration to buy the Ikelite Housing Sony RX-100 was price. This is my first proper underwater housing purchase (go-pro’s are good but not a proper camera so that one does not count). My second consideration was flexibility, I wanted to learn about underwater photography slowly and at some point in the future invest in some good macro lenses which would not just be limited to a specific housing. Considering these, I knew Ikelite products were generally of high quality so the decision to purchase was pretty simple.
First impression is that the housing is rather bulky when compared to the size of the camera, and other brand housings on the market. The housing is very strong, construction is well engineered and manufactured. I had to make a couple of minor adjustments, one being that the screw mount to the camera was slightly out of alignment, other being the fine adjustment of one of the control knobs, nothing major.
I used the housing for the first and only time on a recent dive trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Underwater the housing is very easy to use and is NOT bulky at all. I like the fact the housing is clear and you can see the camera inside. I also purchased the AF35 Strobe Package which I have not used underwater yet.
I am very pleased with this housing and am happy to recommend it to anybody considering purchase
Just back from my diving holiday using this set up for the first time. First impressions are the housing is extremely well put together and all the controls are easily accessible even with gloves on.
The only improvement I would like to see is the zoom control knob being replaced with a lever. I found it awkward to turn the knob in its location compared to using a lever.
For the price in comparison to the other housings available it is brilliant particularly given the option to attach wet close up and wide angle lenses with a 67 mm mount direct to the front of the housing without the need for additional ports or adapters.
The housing is rated to 60 metres and I have no reason to doubt this rating I took it down to 50 metres no issues at all.
No hesitation in recommending this housing for Sony RX100 owners and the service I got from Scott at Bluewater was again outstanding. Highly commended for their customer service even though I am based across the pond in the UK. Alan Smith
