The Sea & Sea YS-D2J Strobe is the same great YS-D2 only with improved functionality. Sea & Sea has returned their manufacturing to Japan, to improve in quality and reliability. Look for the yellow body on the new strobes to differentiate between versions.

The Sea & Sea YS-D2J underwater strobe offers unique improvements over the original YS-D1 with features not available on any other underwater strobe. New audible confirmation provides TTL (Through the Lens) and Ready Light confirmations. In addition the rear panel now offers glowing controls for easy to read settings underwater and quick confirmation of what mode you are in.

The design on the rear of the strobe offers improved dials, easy to see glowing controls and an updated settings wheel for manual and TTL exposure control from previous YS strobes (the rear and is the same as the original YS-D2).
